Every movie is edited and formatted to create the best story line, which would be most attractive to its viewers. Shooting a movie takes a long time, and many scenes are cut to finalize it. Ever wondered how different a movie could have been if those scenes were not left out? Well, look no further. Presenting to you the 12 most important movie cut scenes of recent and olden times.
1. Return of the Jedi, 1983
Star Wars is one of the most famous brands of all time. An extremely important scene in the movie showed Yoda stopping Obi-Wan from telling Luke Skywalker about his father, Anakin. Only a true Star Wars fan will know the significance of this.
2. Forrest Gump, 1994
One of the most famous movies of all time which soared Tom Hank’s acting career into a full boom. When Forrest’s mic got cut at the Washington Rally, he said this in a deleted scene: “Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don’t go home at all. That’s a bad thing. That’s all I have to say about that.”
3. X Men first class, 2011
This is one of the scenes I’m glad was left out. The scene showed Charles using his powers to imagine Eric in a short dress. Not exactly sure what the point of this would have been, to be frank.
4. The Empire Strikes Back
Another Star Wars deleted scene revolves around C-3P0 where he removes a warning sign from the door that contains the deadly wampas. When the storm troopers come rushing to kill any rebels, the wampas attack them. It turns out C-3P0 was pretty clever after all.
5. The Shining, 1980
The deleted clip for this movie is no longer available to the public. It was a scene where the authorities told Wendy that Jacks body could not be found. Like the movie wasn’t creepy enough already.
6. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, 2004
The scientific fiction movie had many deleted scenes, which could have completely altered the story line. The script showed Clementine and Joel continuing to erase and meeting each other for fifty years. If you’ve watched the movie, you’ll understand the importance.
7. First Blood, 1982
Luckily, the story line for this film was changed because if it weren’t we would have never seen our favorite Rambo again because he originally killed himself.
8. Aliens, 1979
This famous film was supposed to have a much darker ending to it where the alien bites Ripley’s head off and mimics her voice to record a recording.
9. Back to the Future III, 1990
This extremely popular movie could have been remembered to be one of the saddest movies ever because a deleted scene showed Tannen shooting the Martial James in front of his young son. The scene was too dark to make the final cut.
10. Butch Cassidy and the Sunshine Kid, 1969
One of the most heroic films of olden times showed what it meant to die a hero. Fortunately, a deleted scene did not have both of them die directly, letting the viewers interpret the scene however they wanted to. But somehow, I still feel that the original cut made the film what it is today.
11. Thor, 2011
Finally, a deleted scene in a recent movie showed that Loki was indeed made the righteous heir of Asgard. Just imagine would could have been.
